La Bella Napoli
Now playing: It's A Merry Life
The Ol'Kunnel's Familiar Quotations:
Short Synopsis Of My Stay In NaplesI was married at the time to Françoise Margarite Laillet, a French woman I had married in France in 1953. Having been posted to the Embassy in Rome, I found my position was to be vacated; so, I volunteered to the Allied Forces Southern Europe headquarters based west of Naples in Bagnoli, Italy. I reported for duty in September 1958 after being on duty in Rome about a year and a half. The apartment from which you can see the above scene was located further to the left in the photo. This photo was probably taken from the Funicalar station that was approximately on the same level as my apartment's building. There were some good times and some bad times in Naples for my personal life. Let's just say most of the good times outweighed the bad. The bad times were marital in nature leading to an eventual divorce in 1960.
