April Showers

When the great Al Jolson was in a Broadway show, audiences didn't care a bit about the story of the musical. The all-important attraction was their beloved Jolie singing and clowning to his-and their-hearts' content. So it was with Bombo, a 1921 hit that opened at a spanking new theater named in Jolson's honor. The nightly show stopper, which Jolson sang from a platform jutting right into the audience, was "April Shower." Yeah!
